2024
The Year of The Wood Dragon
No big deal, Jupiter’s just a SXSW Speaker on the De-influencing: The Future of the Creator Economy Panel. They also made their partnership with The Clover Collective official, by being brought on as the Media Director at The Clover Collective.
2023
The emergence of a global society through real-time posting
In partnership with Heather Lawson-Bradfield of the Clover Collective, Jupiter launched The Imperfect Founder Podcast.” They also founded ‘Aloha Media Projects’, Jupiter built a company for themselves and other non-binary, queer creators, that was unlike any that they had ever seen, with a goal to #DiversifyTheFeed.
2022
Twitter is acquired by… we’re not talking about it.
Jupiter begins more actively participating on LinkedIn, building networks and relationships with a new community. They were a Panel Moderator at the JFF Horizon National Summit: How We Can All Find Our Place in The Future of Skilled Work,” an attendee interviewer, and had their spoken word piece from the documentary showcased at the closing ceremony.
2021
We-Don’t-Talk-About-Truth-Social
After emailing the creative director, Jupiter became involved as the Co-Producer/Co-Writer/Host for Skill Shift, a documentary with Roadtrip Nation streaming on PBS. TikTok also contacted Jupiter, financing the production of their single "Oahu” and two videos that were featured at the virtual summit.
2020
The Year of Digital Transformation Launch of Clubhouse & BeReal
While in lockdown with the rest of the world, Jupiter found themselves on TikTok as a trending creator under the #3WordFreestyleChallenge, leading to many partnerships and collaborations.
2019
The Year Before The World Ended…
Jupiter attends Playlist Live in Orlando as a Featured Panelist (Boss Women: Breaking Boundaries and Building Businesses (prior to their coming out as non-binary)) and a Panel Moderator (The Next Generation of Social Creators).
2018
Musical.ly and TikTok merger
#CreatorBurnout. Jupiter leaves most of their roles behind, aside from occasionally streaming and performing as a Featured Creator at Playlist Live.
2017
ByteDance acquires Musical.ly for $1B & TikTok Launches
After co-producing and hosting an in-app Broadcaster Academy Video Series, Jupiter participated in Vidcons' Summer Billboard Campaign and was a featured Creator not only in LA, but beyond.
2016
Musical
Jupiter is cast as Calvin/Hydrogen in Lin Manuel Miranda and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Millennials: The Musical. They also performed on the YouNow stage in Orlando’s Playlist Live for the first time.
2015
Discord launches, Periscope is acquired by Twitter
Jupiter was a Lead Actor and trainer with Merlin Entertainment in San Francisco, participating in several marketing and promotional campaigns. At the same time, as an early adopter of the technology, Jupiter regularly live-streamed on various platforms, including YouNow, Periscope, LiveStar, FireTalk, and Live.me.
2014
Musical.ly officially launches
Engaging in Community Theater roles and attending auditions alongside theater friends, Jupiter found themselves unexpectedly tapped by Disney's The Lion King. As news coverage highlighted their callback for the role of Nala, Jupiter was thrust into the realm of internet influence while continuing to hone their craft on stage.
2011-2014
Snapchat Launches, Gangam Style becomes the first video to surpass 1 billion views, Vine changes our attention span with 6-second videos + Telegram launches
Back in Hawaii, Jupiter began their Disney journey at Aulani Resort and Spa, earning their ears as an opening team Cast Member. Progressing to become a Lead Photographer and Trainer, they played a pivotal role in introducing the innovative "Aqua Rover" position, making a mark in Disney Photo Imaging history.
2010
Instagram launches
Upon hearing that Disney was coming to town to build a new hotel, Jupiter made their way to Orlando to gain experience with the company as a Disney College Program Photopass Photographer.
2009
Pinterest launches
At eighteen, Jupiter received the Rudy Tokiwa Memorial Award and was invited to march in the National Veterans Day Parade. With a team of five others, they produced “True Courage,” a documentary about Uncle Eddie and the 442nd “Go For Broke” Battalion. “Featured Contributor with ‘A Trip To Remember’ PBS Hawaii July 2009 E-Magazine.” All of this occurred while Jupiter was working part-time as a communications intern at PBS Hawaii.
2008
President Barack Obama Takes to Socials w/ his 2008 U.S. Presidential Campaign
In an incredible year for Jupiter and the Searider Productions team, they were a documentarian with the Pacific Asian Affairs Council Summer Tour 2008, Co-Producer of ‘Searider News’ Student Television Networks #1 Highschool News Broadcast Program,” and ended up graduating with honors. The cherry on top of it all was receiving State Senate recognition as “Searider Productions Student of the Year,” representing Wai’anae High School’s Art & Communication Academy.
2007
Facebook introduces the “Like” button & Amazon Launches Kindle
Before their senior year of high school, Jupiter co-produced ‘Home Heritage Heart’ for The Valley of The Rainbows Sunset on The Beach Feature Presentation. This commission was designed to garner community support to save a festival that had recently been fraught with gang violence and was on the verge of being shut down. It was a huge success.
2006
Google acquires YouTube, Twitter Launches & Facebook opens to the public
With the goal of being on TV, Jupiter not only learned video production but everything that goes into media: cinematography, photography, newswriting, voice-overs, producing, and editing. This fostered a deep respect for the power of media and the knowledge that those both behind and in front of the camera have a responsibility to handle that power intentionally.
2005
YouTube Launches
Jupiter joins Searider Productions, an Emmy award-winning training program dedicated to helping the students of Wai’anae High School build a skill set for a successful career in media.
